Exponet Exhibition (Pvt.) Ltd. in association with BRAC EPL Investments Limited (BEIL) will organize a three-day long trade show on Green Industrial Equipment, Biodiversity & Renewable Energy Technology. The event, titled "Showcase Clean Development Mechanism Bangladesh (CDMB)" is scheduled to be held from February 16-18, 2012 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka. The announcement was made earlier at a Curtain Raising & Pre-Exhibition Ceremony held on October 11, 2011 at BRAC Centre Inn.
The official curtain raising of the main event was conducted under the auspices of Chief Guest Muhammad A. (Rumee) Ali, Chairman of BRAC EPL Investments Limited and BRAC Bank Limited. Khaled Y. Farazi, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC EPL Investments Limited, presided over the occasion. The event was illuminated further by the Guests of Honor namely H.E. Svend Olling, Ambassador, The Royal Embassy of Denmark, Ms. Miriam Otto, Second Secretary- Economic and Commercial Affairs of The Royal Netherlands Embassy and Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank Limited.
Chief guest Muhammad A. (Rumee) Ali said on the occasion, "As a proud member of the BRAC family, BEIL's core beliefs are very much based on the social goals of BRAC and that is why we believe that profit and growth are not sutsainable in the modern world without taking care of the environment and community first. We now have added focus on enterprises that aim to enhance social return on investments. Also, this event offers much needed knowledge-sharing and exposure for Bangladesh towards green technolgies. Ultimately this will help to re-brand Bangladesh as an eco-friendly country so as to attract foreign investment in this sector".
