BRAC EPL Investment Limited organized road show on "Dhaka Elevated Expressway PPP Project"
BRAC EPL Investments Limited (BEIL) has recently organized a road show on “Dhaka Elevated Expressway PPP Project” at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. BEIL has been mandated by First Dhaka Elevated Expressway (FDEE) Company Limited, as its Lead Arranger for raising local currency term loan. The session was conducted to give the local banks and financial institutions a complete overview of the Project and its key features.
Khaled Yusuf Farazi, CEO of BEIL inaugurated this event while guests from various banks and financial institutions attended the session. Mr. Syed Afsor H. Uddin, CEO of Public Private Partnership Office under the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Quazi Muhammad Ferdous, Project Director of Bangladesh Bridge Authority, Mr. Montchai Musicabud, Managing Director of FDEE and Mr. Bhaskon Khannabha, CFO of the Project were also present in the event. The presentations on the project were followed by an interactive Question and Answer session. The bankers were very positive towards this milestone Project of the country.
The Dhaka Elevated Expressway PPP Project will be the first ever expressway in the country. The construction of the Project is expected to take three and half years. It will be one of the largest infrastructure PPP projects in Bangladesh. FDEE, the Concessionaire of the Project is currently fully owned by Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, the largest construction company in Thailand with an experience in construction business for more than 50 years.
The proposed route of the Expressway will start from Shahjalal International Airport and will be connected to Dhaka-Chittagong Highway near Kutubkhali. The Expressway will have four lanes dual main carriageway of a total length of around 19 kilometers with 32 on-off ramps in key areas. Total length of ramps and links will be around 27 kilometers. The project is expected to reduce traffic congestion of Dhaka and increase traffic capacity of north-south corridor of the city.
